Solomon Awuku is an accomplished leader and insurance practitioner with a distinguished career spanning close to 20 years in the field of insurance and risk management. As the Chief Executive Officer of Ace Medical Insurance, Solomon’s dynamic leadership style has propelled the company to new heights, earning him recognition as a great manager, team builder, and compassionate leader.
Solomon Awuku embarked on his insurance journey in 2005 as a sales officer at Star Life Assurance Company Limited. The subsequent year saw him transition to Metropolitan Life Insurance Ghana, where he held the role of branch manager for an impressive six years. His career took an international turn when he assumed the position of Country Manager at Vanguard Life Cameroon, a subsidiary of the Vanguard Group. Here, he oversaw mobile distribution through the MNO’s platform (MTN), establishing a network of more than 50 outlets across the nation. Returning to Ghana in the latter part of 2014, Solomon joined Premier Health Insurance, a subsidiary of the Premium Group, as the General Manager in charge of Sales and Marketing. His journey culminated in his appointment as the Chief Executive Officer of Ace Medical Insurance. Prior to this, he had excelled as the Head of Operations at United Wealth, a marketing advisory firm for the Vanguard Group.
Solomon Awuku is a Chartered Insurer, a testament to his profound knowledge and mastery of insurance practices. He is an Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute (ACII, UK) and the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG), showcasing his commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
Beyond his role as a Managing Director, Solomon actively contributes to the insurance industry’s growth and development. He serves on the education and research committee of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Ghana (CIIG), underscoring his dedication to enhancing industry standards. Additionally, he holds an executive position within the Organization Development Practitioners Association (ODPA) Ghana, further demonstrating his holistic approach to leadership.
Solomon Awuku holds a Master’s degree (MA) in Organization Development from the prestigious University of Cape Coast. This educational foundation has equipped him with a comprehensive understanding of organizational dynamics, which he leverages to foster a thriving work environment at Ace Medical Insurance.
